mind rambling
I’m sure that there are both private and public companies excelling in their research and development of unfathomable technologies. There’s always a headline circulating, leaving us in shock.
Business is not complicated. Complication comes from the human emotions we prioritize and the extent that companies we consider to collaborate with can connect with our values. (Strange, because when it comes to politics, these ‘core values’ aren’t actually as relevant. Humans really do pick & choose what they want to hear/see/believe).
While experience is often a major factor when determining a candidates value, the tech world is ever changing. So what should be just as important is finding talent that is perceptive, conscious, and adaptive.
Earth functions via connections. Every war fought originated from a source of disagreement. What needs to change is not what equates to what we all deem to be « right ». That will never come into fruition because of subjectivity.
How can we create a world where each individual can live their inner truth? Is that resolved by digital lives? A matrix of some sort?
I can’t answer that. But, I do know that until we figure a way for each individual to live the life they are truly seeking-there will always be conflict.
Is this valuable? Our self-serving instincts? I can’t say. What I can say is that I could never blame someone for wanting to live beyond the restraints of our society. What I deem a tragedy may be a blessing for another.
There is no such thing as peace without having a mass of people give up their own values. Until this can truly be understood, possibly (though I find this to be unattainable in any sort of near future because there is so much stubbornness and pride within our global relations), we will always be fighting someone.
We desire for everyone else in the world to adhere to the same values. This is absurd because of the simplicity of values we are already arguing over. If we can’t even determine whether or not the earth is going to soon become inhabitable due to how we’ve been treating it, there’s no future to even fend for.
